On killing units which have had the AmbientAnimCombat function run on them, they always switch instantly to the default standing animation. This is particularly noticeable if the unit is prone or kneeling. If they are killed, they switch instantly to the standing animation.

Create a group of AI and execute the AmbientAnimFunction. Kill the units in a kneeling or prone position and observe the issue.
