Hello everyone.
This is a failry simple, yet quite useful feature that i'm suggesting.
As we know, the Karts, Helicopters and Marksmen DLC for ArmA III have some new assets such as weapons and vehicles included with them. In order to differentiate them from default game items, they have a little additional icon with the DLC's logo with to the right of their name and own item icon, signifying that these weapons are part of that DLC. That happens both in inventory menus as well as in Virtual Arsenal.
Much in the same way, community mods are now allowed to have their own icons, with a default "jigsaw puzzle" icon acting as placeholders in case a mod doesn't have its own customized icon. These can be seen under the Expansions menu, just like the official DLC for ArmA III.
However, unlike the DLC items, if you try to use these mods assets, they have no differentiation in either the Inventory or Virtual Arsenal menus. It's strange, not only because DLC weapons have that feature, but also because mod units (for instance, a Russian Rifleman) have icons identifying them in the Editor, but weapons (like an AK-74M for that rifleman) or vehicles (like a BMP-2 that rifleman can ride) don't. In fact, even when you select terrains to open using the Editor, you can see the little icons
This becomes especially jarrying when you have more than one mods activated, and these often have different versions of the same real-world item. At a time, I had four different versions of the same AK-47 (HLC, RHS, CUP, EvW, etc...).
My request is simply to have the same possibility of DLC assets having icons to distinguish them be extended to mod assets. This would greatly help players using mods of any kind. Even just havin the placehold "jigsaw" icon would already be useful, although the introduction of such a feature might incentivate more mod authors to use custom icons for their mods.
