The AI not uses the any deployment of weapons.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I noticed that the AI never uses any deployment of weapon.
It doesn't look realistic, especially when the player-commander, sees the actions of his squad.

BIS can create the preconditions for this.
For example: if AI has a bipods and this bot in the prone position and danger mode more than X seconds, then he can use the deployment of weapons.
And otherwise BIS can create a lot of prerequisites.
Main task is to make the AI used it, together with the human player/

Hey and thank you for the report.

This was considered even before the work on the weapon deployment started and was one of the major concern. Sadly this feature would be too complicated and is out of scope. We had to acknowledge that we'll have to go without AI being able to deploy the weapons.

Oh my God! you called elementary task "too complicated"!

Since the beginning of your project(OFP) it took about 15 years!
But today, in the game, we see the level of artificial intelligence, with age, similar to one year. As if the game appeared a year ago, not more/
Today AI is dumb and predictable and the AI behavior, not like the human behavior. The AI is not able to do many actions. I have repeatedly reported about it, but unfortunately BIS doesn't want to work on improving the AI in the game.

Elementary? You're more than welcome: https://www.bistudio.com/company/careers

bwhahaha xD

BIS, You taught the AI to shoot from the prone position and no one called this task is "too complicated"! Above, I suggested simple prerequisites for this action.
In the end, you can force the AI to use the deploy every time, then he located in the prone position and see the target.
What Here is unsolvable?
Maybe the game doesn't understand when the AI sees and shoot the enemy or when the AI is in the prone position?

please explain, what is the inability?

What about deploying bipods on anything other than the ground? Suddendly the thing doesn't look that easy does it?

@FrankHH
I think we need to forget about it(
If BIS, in 2015 is not able to do it on the free and flat ground, then on another AI-deployments to ask does not make sense.

Shouldn't this be under "Feature Request"?

@mickeymen
I was not asking for it. I was simply trying to make you understand that half-assing something is not good.

You either do it fully (AI being able to deploy on flat ground, ASSUMING that is easy (probably not), and AI being able to deploy on objects)

If you think that is easy to do, feel free to apply for a job at BI, as oukej suggested.

@FrankHH
I got the pleasure to work in BIS, but my spoken English is very bad.
Also I don't represent value for BIS, as a programmer.
However, I'm not bad to own a 3D modeling and rendering, but I have so much work to do)

Yes, I am sure that in 2015, the team of developers of the computer games industry, SHOULD BE ABLE to implement the use of a AI weapons-deployment.
BIS has taught the AI to use the prone position, so they can teach to deploy weapons also.
In this sense, for the big team of developers, this task should be elementary. And to make such a conclusion, no need to be a programmer. For make this finding, it helps to be familiar with what has already been done by developers and with some computer games.

I offered a simple solutions:
"if AI has a bipods and this bot in the prone position and danger mode more than X seconds, then he can use the deployment of weapons"

or this:

"BIS you can force the AI to use the deploy every time, then he located in the prone position and see the target"

My task is comparable to the flight to the Orion star? or maybe I suggested to create a Perpetual Motion Machine?
What can interfere with AI-deployment?
I asked, but BIS is silent.
