No gun sounds and animations in Multiplayer
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

FIXED: Removing the mod(@super_flash) , and verifying the gamecache after that solved the problem

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

When a gun is fired by a friendly player controlled unit, neither the sound of the gun firing nor the animation ( recoil, muzzleflash, shell ejection) can be heard or seen. Only the impacts of the bullets are audible. The Model of the gun itself is visible. All sounds and animations are working from my perspective when fired by myself.

Switching the rate of fire from single to automatic solves the issue temporarily on aussaultrifles and submachineguns. Weapons like pistols and launchers are affected and cannot be heard since the dont have an auto fire mode.

Though me and my clan use the same set of mods http://play.withsix.com/Arma-3/collections/wa4ucEGankOG4T5HwCXD0Q/Zeus-Extended/content , all updated and checked of course, the issue seems to affect people at random. The sound issue extends to standard arma weapons such as the MX or the P07 or PCML,
and tests with and without sound and weapon mods came up with the same result.

  • equip said people with different varietys of weaopns ( single fire, auto fire, launchers)

-let each of them fire rounds in different firing modes at targets nearby.

Additional Information

Tested on this server: http://www.gametracker.com/server_info/148.251.3.162:2302/

Fire from enemy AI can be heard, be it standard rifles like Katibas or modded weapons like Ak74/47's

Friendly (sound bugged) weapons still cause damage if shot at me.

Re installing the mods and verifying the gamecache did not resolve the problem

changing hertz and audio-quality on my headphones didnt change anything, as did switching from surround to stereo and back.

Hello,
does it also happen to you when you have no mods enabled?

The issue can be put on resolved. The missing gunsounds and animations were due to a installed - but not enabled flashbang/stungrenade mod, strangely enough.

Interesting to note was, that people with the mod installed could hear each other, whilst being "mute" to everyone else, and vice versa.

Removing the mod, and verifying the gamecache after that solved the problem
