The ability for Zeus to change vehicle skins/colour
New, WishlistPublic

Description

With the large number of variants of the soon to be release Taru helicopter I understand that the black skinned variant will only be accessible through scripting commands. This makes sense as it avoids clogging the various UI lists with endless variants of the same unit.

This is fine for mission makers using the editor and scripting commands but falls short when you consider Zeus mission makers/curators.

Under the currently proposed system the only way to give a Zeus player access to these variants would involve more complex scripting such as an "objectplaced" event handler, these solutions would generally limit the Zeus player to a single skin for each classname of object they are placing.

Therefore I would like to request that Zeus be given the ability to change the skin of a vehicle through a new UI element. This could be achieve with a simple slider UI that can be displayed either as an addition to the "double click" UI when selecting a unit or with a placeable module that can be dragged onto an existing unit.

Additional Information

This would also be advantageous for any and all existing vehicles that have multiple skins available such as civilian cars and SUVs.

Personally I don't think this functionality warrants the addition of a new dedicated Zeus module, I suggest this solution above for the sake of argument. Simply added a slider UI that cycles through all available colour or texture variants of the selected vehicle to the "double click" menu would be the most elegant solution.

Bonus: If this feature were implemented then the ability to add custom textures to the lists available for each vehicle would also be a great addition.
