There are a few points that have to be changed:
- At them moment, ground radar of AAA for example is limited to the overal view distance (OVD). You can check this by placing a helicopter about 3km away from your AAA vehicle and changing the OVD. You will see, that the helicopter only appears at an OVD >= 3km. This must be changed to a fix value, because radar doesnt care how far you can look. Air vehicles don't have this limitation! This shows, that its possible to fix this for vehicles. Maybe the developers should look at the difference between the radar of air and ground vehicles.
- The ability to switch between locked targets on the radar screen.
This feature makes air vehicles able to lock on ground vehicles that are not in front of them. A single square appears and every target on the radar can be locked.
There are two bugs with it: -AAA is not able to do the same
-Its only possible to switch betweeen manned vehicles! Try a scenario in the editor and you will see, that abandoned vehicles can only be locked when they are in front of the helicopter. This makes no sense, because a vehicle's radar signature does not change when someone sits inside it.
Im not a fan of artificial balancing, but ATM the radar behaviour of ARMA unbalances the game in an unrealistic way.
