Various shadow artifacts exclusive to the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 ti
New, WishlistPublic

Description

After upgrading to an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 ti from an ATI Radeon HD 6950, I have noticed various shadow artifacts with varying degrees of severity that are EXCLUSIVE to this video card. Every single person I have encountered with this problem is using the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 ti. {F24422}

Only happens when using an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 750 ti, to my knowledge. Simply load the game up on a PC using that card and you will see various shadow artifacts on infantry, vehicles, and other objects in the game.

From hi-end Radeon HD 6 series to a low-mid-range nVidia GTX 7 series? That doesn't sound like an upgrade...

I can confirm and reproduce all of thesse issues on my GTX 750 Ti. It happens on every detail setting and can only be "fixed" by turning off shadows completely.

Confirmed, 750 Ti user having the same problem.

@Goomer, The GTX 750 ti has better drivers, higher benchmark scores, runs quieter, cooler and it was in my price range after the 6950 completely crapped out.

However, that really isn't the issue here. The problem is that this simply shouldn't be happening to anyone regardless of what video card they use. I'm not sure what side the problem is on, the card or the company, (probably a bit of both) but hopefully it CAN be fixed.

I should also point out that I posted on the NVIDIA forums as well, although I never got a single response from anyone there. I would try to contact NVIDIA directly, but I couldn't find a way to do that.

Same problem her ...

EVGA 750Ti FTW ACX with 340.43 drivers

@SteveB117: Of course. And i wish to see as many people as possible enjoy this game.
Just poking at you for calling it an "upgrade".

@Goomer, Well, when you're on a tight budget, I guess you try to be a little more optimistic about what you spend your money on. :)

Have the same issue with Geforce GTX745. Like mentioned before, the only way to fix it is to turn the shadows completely off.

GTX770 same problem

@Triada: I have one and i've never seen it happening. :o

I also have this issue, any idea when a fix might come?

The trashcan (dumpster) shadow glitch through the wall.

Goomer added a comment.Aug 7 2014, 1:09 AM

@Triada: And nothing. It would be foolish to give the impression that everyone has this problem. Calm your tits.

@Goomer
The thing is, it IS happening to everyone. At least everyone who has a GTX 750 ti. Until I see someone who has one that DOESN'T have this problem (which I haven't) then I will continue to believe anyone who owns this card has the exact same issue.

@Triada: Do you brush your teeth? What's with the questions?

@Triada: How old are you, 10?

Guys, stop with this shit. This is a bug tracker, not a forum to post your whiny complaints about each other. You're not helping the bug get fixed any faster so move on.

But mooooooom! D:

I can confirm that this is also an issue with the 860M (Maxwell) mobile graphics card which is based on the 750Ti

Confirm that the artifacts are present while using my ASUS GTX 750 ti.
I also wrote on the geforce forums thread and wrote to the moderator that once aswered and then nothing...

I think it's pretty safe to say at this point that this issue isn't going to be fixed, based on the lack of any response on either side of the issue. It's understandable, I suppose, considering the small amount of people affected by it.

Pretty understandable, but not so right, every user should get its support, especially us with a problem regarding the gpu.
And I believe it's related to the software, ArmA III itself or the gpu's drivers, so a solution wouldn't be so hard to find.
Let's hope we won't be forgotten.

Anyway I found that it is related, at least for infantry, to the U.S. MTP longsleeve uniform.
I did various tests but the bug appears or disappears randomly. I can't find any logic.

With AAF soldiers it doesn't appear.

It's really related to the card. I found graphical glitches even in Minecraft modded with Shaders mod, looking at water, or in Watch Dogs, driving you can see some sort of wooden walls flickering.

Damn it, if only they answered on geforce forums.
I wrote a message to 2 moderators with still no luck.
This drives me mad.

@x6Jack9x

Yeah, I know the feeling. It's like pulling teeth trying to get a response from anyone on the GeForce forums.

The new Maxwell videocards are availabre on the market now like the new drivers too. Did anyone tested the drivers out?
It's just to see if you guys will be able to better play the game now since I was too angry I bought a 760..

Shadow artifacts still present as of the latest update.

I just tried out the game again yesterday and today, and for me, all of the shadow artifacts are gone. I tested it with all vehicles, a ton of infantry, I can't find any of them anywhere now.

I'm still using the same GTX 750 ti, with NVIDIA GeForce Experience, with drivers updated to 344.75

Are you 100% sure? The artifacts don't show up everytime. Did they disappear after updating the driver?

The issue is still there. It depends on the time of the day.
GTX 850m 2GB Nvidia 355.98
Arma III 1.50 no beta

i have a similar problem. i make a video for more ditails.

Devs please! 960M here and the same is happening.

This issue came back with the new drivers. Fuck.

Im not giving up. This is still serious graphics issue!

This is definitely happening with the latest drivers again, with some new artifacts such as thick white lines that stretch a few feet from a character's chest when wearing standard NATO vests.

Does anyone know the most recent driver version that didn't have this problem?

It seems like our only solution at this point is to roll back our drivers until a new one is released that doesn't have these issues.

Just updated to latest driver as of this post (361.43) and the issue is back.. oh well.. back to 355.60 as that is the last driver without the issue.

EVGA GTX 750ti

BIS and NVIDIA need to have a chat....

This does not happen in any other game, they all run without issue regardless of driver version.

Same things here.

I got my 750ti in september 2014, the shadow bug appeared. But after a few months, the bug was gone.
Until this autumn. Now it has returned with an nvidia driver update, and it is still there.
Only sollution to use an old driver, or turn off shadows completely.

Same on 960M. Very annoying

I used to save all my drivers in a folder. http://www.geforce.com/drivers manual search is my friend. I downgraded my GTX 860M to 358.91 (nov 15) to play with RHS / Unsung mods without shadow problems.

I have a normal 750 and have this problem as well. I've tried several graphics drivers iterations over the past several months, the most recent being the one released this week. As with others, rolling back to 355.60 or disabling shadows is the only workaround for me.

Same as @Fadi, MSi 2GB GTX 750 here, I have these shadow artifacts aswell.

So poor backward compatibility since 355.60 is a pity!
The last one 361.91 promises "an optimal experience for Arma3"...

This was happening to me using 960M GPU but now it's gone. Someone using GTX750 ti could check if it's fixed for them too?
