When firing weapon, clicking the right mouse button (RMB) to bring up the sights, followed by holding down the RMB to zoom in and hold breath, then using left mouse button to fire weapon causes approximately one in four times, to swap weapon with pistol or visa versa. Also causes the zoom in to drop out and to change gun sights. Any or all of these can occur at random, but occur frequently, rendering the game unplayable. I also found that the F key did not work. I changed the key binding to an alternative key but it still did not work. Subsequently found that the mouse wheel press (button) function was triggering the weapon swap/sights swap but was unable to change this in game. The mouse seemed to override any key bindings in game.

Use a Microsoft 2 button digital mouse with centre wheel and Steam download of Arma 3.
Temporary fix - went into Windows 7 control panel and disabled mouse wheel button function. I can now use the F key to swap weapons and random swaps have ceased. I am still having issues with the RMB functions though. Have mapped Hold Breath to the left shift key, but seems I need to remap the zoom function as well.
Yes, the RMB functions are now behaving erratically. This is SO frustrating. I am using well recognised kit sold by Microsoft for goodness sake!
This is a War simulator... and the control interface for your weapons don't work????
OMG!!!!
Event Timeline
As far as I know I am in the latest dev build. Check my dev details in post.
Regardless of that, this is my experience in my build!
Do you have the same kit as me?
I followed Arma 3's instructions on how to identify my version of the program and that is clearly displayed on this post.
If you need further information that Arma 3 has not informed me about you should post an issue about that!
As shown above I am using Product Version 1.10.114.700 and as far as I know that is the latest dev version. If not then complain to Arma for not making it clear what the hell information is required here!
You are using a Roccat Savu and not able to recreate my problem? That maybe because I am not using a Roccat Savu. I have clearly specified I am using Microsoft 2-button digital mouse with central wheel. Check out the "Steps to recreate problem" info!
I deleted my note because I found the command you referred to and so my note was no longer appropriate. Sorry my powers of ESP are not sufficient to have known you had read it before I deleted it - it was only up for a very short time.
Anyway... Thanks for pointing me in the direction of that particular binding. It has indeed enabled me to disable the MMB in game.
If this problem is then fixed as it was just a control bind mistake, then this ticket can be closed, right?
I think random weapons swaps occurring when you fire your weapon, considering the length of the swap gun animation, is actually pretty serious!
The mouse I am using is very widely used and I was amazed when I searched the Arma 3 reports here and could find no other report of this problem. If people are bullied into removing their reports of serious issues and how to resolve them, how is that of any use to the Arma 3 community?
"reports of serious issues".
Dude, if you think what i did was bullying then you made a mistake, even more when this "serious issue" as you call it may be just a problem you have with your bind controls.
AD2001 - you did help and you did provide a fix. And I thanked you for that. Sorry to see you're are still having a hissy fit! Puts your rattle back in your pram!
Dr Death - Yeh, I call buying a war game only to find you can't shoot your weapon because a swap weapon routine kicks in at random every 3 or 4 shots serious. Wouldn't you? No? Yes it is a problem with bind control's - one that Arma needs to address hence my post! You just do not seem to get that though so... hey, lucky you for not having that problem and having no freeking idea what I am talking about!
No, we cant, because so far it seems like you are the only one with that problem and 70% of the people who get arma, just like with any game with many complex controls, like to keep them default, and none of them reported that problem (i re-bind all of my controls).
Issue closed as obsolete. If you encounter this problem again, please create another ticket. Thank you.
