Cannot exit mission after Nth load/save of the same mission

Description

When making a user save, save&exit'ing (devoid of choice), loading and trying save&exit'ing again (rinse repeat couple of times), at times you can't exit the mission anymore and only saves occur.

Only options remaining are then: Esc, Alt-F4 or dying.

Steps To Reproduce
  • Open some Campaign mission where Save & Exit is active (e.g. "Signal Lost")
  • Do a user save
  • Esc, Save & Exit
    • REPEAT
  • Resume the mission
  • Esc, Save & Exit
    • END REPEAT
  • eventually, sometimes, not always, the game will only save and not exit the mission anymore when clicking "Save & Exit"
