After playing around with various missions involving jets and tanks,I have found that AI tanks shoot down jets with the main gun with relative ease. I am not sure but I would think tanks would not fire on fast moving aircraft with the main weapon unless they were using some kind of anti aircraft round.

I've shot helicopters - and even jets - going on attack runs multiple times in A2. When the aircraft is coming (almost) exactly at you, there's practically no lead to take - it's as easy as taking a shot at slowly moving vehicle.
Do they do anything superhuman, like shooting a jet when it's flying perpendicular to the line of sight?

I think the problem is with the planes themselves - they are too slow, not very agile and overall bad. If we had proper fighter jets this wouldn't have been a problem.
