"AppHang" white screen on game start up multiple times a week
Closed, ResolvedPublic

I have a really strange problem where multiple times a week the game will just hang at startup with a white screen, appear to be "not responding" and requires a force close to exit the game.

edit: I've attached my dxdiag. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game. I've tried the dev build, reverted to public build. Uninstalled, upgraded and downgraded video drivers. Uninstalled and reinstalled sound drivers. Tried reinstalling directx. Deleted all Arma 3 related folders in the My Documents folder. Deleted all Arma 3 related folders in the AppData folder. I've literally tried everything I can think of. The game will just not launch anymore.

This is the error that Windows shows, I'm not sure what other information you need from me:

Dev build also doesn't work.

Did you try reinstall PhysX drivers? Because all your .rpt files have end before PhysX initialization.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled different video card driver versions multiple times.

I also just now downloaded this: , chose the uninstall option, restarted my computer, reinstalled the drivers, attempted to start the game but the same thing is happening.

I've also just tried using a driver cleaner "Driver Sweeper", uninstalled physx with that, reinstalled using above driver, game still won't load properly.

Could you try kill all unnecessary applications before start of Arma III?
Could you start Arma III as administrator?
Which antivirus software do you use?

Same problem when closing all running programs.

My windows account is the administrator account, is there something else to try there?

The only antivirus software I have installed is Microsoft Security Essentials.

The game still isn't working. I think it has something to do with triple monitor resolutions and the arma 3 config file. Although going back to a single monitor, the game is doing the same not responding problem.

Did you try delete all config and profile files before try with single monitor?

Yes, I've tried everything short of reinstalling Windows.

I've uninstalled the game completely for now as this whole situation has been depressing and stressing the hell out of me. I have gone back to Arma 2 since it works and is a lot more fun than your new product (when it worked).

Mass closing ancient tickets with no activity this year; assume fixed or too trivial etc.

If this issue is still relevant in current dev build, please create a new ticket referencing this one and request for it to be re-opened.
