It is tricky but you can go through walls using step over.

Suggestion:
No need to rethink collisions. Simply forbid to change direction when you stepping over like with no weapon.

Steps To Reproduce

Hard to say. Look at the wall, hit V, close to the end of animation turn from the wall and run away from it. You will be pushed in.
