Everytime I use bounding mines they go off without significant damage to those closest. They come up around head level and explode a foot away from your face. That should shred my face, making life void. Even in the field manual description says that it will take out many soldiers. But everytime they go off, I walk out with blurred vision, maybe see a little blood but no big deal. Same with units that are further away. I have seen my units survive multiple explosions.
