This has always been a problem as far as I know. If there is a helicopter overhead and it fires it's cannons or missiles, tracers are seen but no sound is made.

Steps To Reproduce
Load up the editor and place yourself as a civilian or OPFOR somewhere on the map. Place a BlueFor attack helicopter somewhere else on the map and set its waypoint to seek and destroy to wherever you are. Watch and listen. You won't be able to hear any gunfire from the attack helicopter.
Additional Information
This can really break immersion and situational awareness. As far as I know this has always been a problem in both Alpha and Beta, but I'm not sure if it has been reported yet. I have set the sound sources for the audio from anywhere between 48-128 and it doesn't make a difference.
