First time playing the Arma series and loving it so far, was just wondering if there will be an introduction to jumping even at least climb thru a window or climb a fence that is in your way. You could also take it to where you can scale objects that are in the area that so happens to be next to a building and you can get to the roof, bam!!! new vantage point. Im not talking about assassins creed standard free running and that you cant do that with 70lbs of gear in your rucksack but troops in real life have this capability and utilize it. I dont know let me get some feedback i like to hear opinions it can open a lot of sandbox playability as well

cant really help you out here i have basic introduction to software development like c++ and java but the physics are there in the game and contact recognition there maybe its just a simple addition to an object or class.

not a good idea to carry a 4 kg rifle and 15 kg in equipment and jump a fence in the middle of the open place where you can get killed, you can vault, its not the same, but to have an actual binding to jump it would require an engine rewrite

no, i find it almost impossible to make a jump, an actual jump, in the game, no "high vault with jumpt animation" but a real jump, wich would mostly require to remake the falling effects and damage, movement momentum, etc.
Well, it's from a mission maker who discontinued his mission and I have permission to keep it maintained and a standalone for anybody who want to use it. Just need a little help fixing a few things. If you can help that would be great!
but that's a script with an animation, its like i said before, just another high vault, its not exactly "jump"
DayZ Standalone have bunnyhop like jump. It will allow you to jump from rock cliff and crush yourself.

DayZ standalone is still a vault that looks like jumping.
Killzone kid, that animation is modded, not incluided, and it IS still a vault with another animation
Putting this on your server will give all the players the ability without having to download addons.

Vault: your character becomes a ghost and goes over a short wall. animation incluided
Jump: the character hit box actually raises and then lowers itself.
understand? there is no way "jumping" can be done easily on the engine
like i said, the vault animation its just making the character a "ghost" for a time and make the player teleport or move itself 1 or 2 meters, the player is never raised or lowered from their position, just moved.
Jump is when the actual player is moved upwards, like leaving a hovering chopper, however, when landing, the animations, hit box and etc. are broken, that's why you cant have a "jump" in the game with no engine redesign
I'm sorry dr death but you are talking out of your bottom. Firstly do you have any concrete facts to support your theory? Secondly I just spawnd AI and made it hop over indefinitely then shot it while it was in the air, on the ground, just taking off, almost landing. NO PROBLEM
Dr Death. Jump would not require an "Engine Re-Write". That's absurd. Can you make a plane go up or down? Great. Then it can be applied to player entities too. Learn what you're talking about before you talk.
YOU learn what are you talking about before posting a note, you have to re-write the engine because the engine doesn't compare a character to a vehicle, the engine won't allow movement up or down easily because it was coded so it could make infantry just move like how they should, and even if you make the engine think infantry can move like a vehicle, you have several vehicle classess the engine can take (small engined vehicles, bikes, cars, APC, tracked APC, tanks, boats, subs, planes, helis)
If player is not a vehicle then why

Inside what vehicle would it be? Create a unit in editor and try for yourself before you start talk rubbish again.
