When shooting at the Panther and Kamysh with the AMV's CTWS or the Kamysh's 30 mm cannon, using AP, the rounds will penetrate the vehicles in 5 out of 10 cases. As in, they enter on the left side, go straight through, and exit on the right side. It would be cool if the ricochet could continue to be simulated, however, 40/30mm rounds (or any caliber, at that) should not completely penetrate such heavily armored vehicles. {F21009} {F21010}

Place Panther/Kamysh at 500 ish meters distance (I placed gun at one end of Stratis runway, and the Targets as empty vehicles on the other end.) and fire at it from any angle (best reproduced using broadside of target). Observe rounds impacting and often ricochetting away behind the target, clearly penetrating it.
Pictures provided below was taken using Panther's broadside as the target, and using the Kamysh as the shooting vehicle. Selected round type was APFSDS. The MP rounds apparently do not penetrate.
Picture using Kamysh used the AMV-7 as shooting vehicle. Same result here: APFSDS penetrates completely, straight through the armored hull. GPR did not appear to penetrate.
OBSERVATION: Rounds are clearly visible on the far side of the targets after having impacted and gone through. Impact points are also clearly visible on the sides of the hull, using Thermals.
Event Timeline
All APCs received improved armor modelling.
Please note Kamysh armor is as weak as one on AMV, while Panther is generally very hard to penetrate with anything available in game. There is no EFP simulation yet.
It is yet to see...
Maybe in ARMA 4 they have little more than the basic thing (front, rear, sides etc) simulated.
Of course it would be nice to have advanced simulation (range, angle, location, amount) even when it would not be as technical as in Steel Beast.
