In SinglePlayer or Editor my game crashes roughly 5-10 minutes in game for no apparent reason.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When the crash happens it freezes for a moment then I get tabbed out to my desktop automatically and a window pops up reading "Arma 3 has stopped working."
I have been trying to solve this for a a few days now as I purchased the game on Steam two days ago, I tried running it in windowed, with -nobenchmark, as administrator but nothing worked so far except deleting the arma 3 file in my documents, this only temporarily solves the problem for an extra few minutes and then the inevitable window-of-death pops up, closing the program. Also it works fine im multiplayer for about an hour or so and then that crashes too.

Anything...just a quick question, are you overclocking your CPU at all? I had the _exact_ same problem and once I stopped Overclocking it went away. Seems crazy because the machine wouldn't crash and I ran Prime95 for hours without a problem, but A3 would crash every 15 minutes or so when I was overclocked.

I was running a i5-3570K.

No i heard of those cases though, nothing on my PC is overclocked, not even sure what that means anyway.

Just means your trying to make your CPU run faster than it's supposed to. Lot of times you can get extra power out of it, but it can cause instability, and did exactly that in my case. Anyways, hope they figure out your issue!

Thanks for the info.

Link opens rapidshare homepage, so I can't download crashdumps. Can you check it please? Thank you.

Thanks for the response asteroth, not sure about the rapidshare issue, I re did the link, maybe it will work for you know?

Still same for me, link opens this page: https://www.rapidshare.com/#home

Can you try other sharing service please?

Should work now!

Probably better to use dropbox or something that doesn't require an account to download from.

Your crashes may be heat related, try using a tool called HWMonitor to watch the temp of your CPU and GPU. >70c is bad.

Don't forget to grab your DXDiag report file and upload that to your ticket.

I can download it now, but you uploaded files from wrong folder. Crashdumps are in this folder: C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\

http://www.4shared.com/rar/oGzc8-B3/Arma_3_1.html? Finally, there you go, sorry about the mishaps, just thought that when you guys said "Archive the arma 3 file" I just assumed it was in the documents folder.

Thank you for your files.

No problem, thans for helping.

Meatball, same - I had an overclocked i5-3570k too and ARMA 3 would keep crashing. My OC was 100% stable and tested too with prime95 and zero crashes for over a year of playing games daily, including ARMA 2, Planetside 2 (other cpu intensive games)... ARMA 3 really hates overclocks.

I found that after 30 mins of play arma 3 would run out of ram, causing it to crash. Odd that it would never use more than 1.5gb of my 6gb ram when it did.

I'm interested to see if adding the '-maxmem=2047' startup parameter prevents the crashes, perhaps it will help with your issue?

I'd try it myself but I'm not near my machine for a couple of days.

Alight thanks for the tip Chomp.

No Chomp. it didn't stop my crashes, maybe it will solve yours though, i don't know.

How long is this gonna take?

Well, maybe it could be a bad memory stick. But then other applications would probably show similar symptoms. Do they?

edit - there are some memory testers you could try. Google and chosse one that suits you.

Unable to reproduce, it looks, that is hardware issue. Please check your hw through some tests.
