When flying the UH-80 the light does nothing to improve sight on the ground, it's just a stick yellow that gives away your position at night and does nothing for you.

Yeah, I found the same issue. Even hovering right on the deck, it does barely anything for my visibility. But it's REAL easy to see from the ground. Maybe have the option to turn it off? It works as a locator light, telling friendly troops when their ride has arrived perhaps, but it should be able to be cut when in an unfriendly area.
