I really doubt that in 2035 only the team leader carries a GPS unit?It is also very important for all soldiers when using elite difficulty since you cant tell a soldier....regroup at coordinates 025025 if only the team leader has a GPS.;)

My grandmother uses one to not get lost so I really feel that this would be super common item in soldiers kit.I also feel that the need for compass and watch will be redundant with the GPS unit as not only does it tell you your coordinates but also the time and your heading.And its instant wherein the compass is old world technology that has to stabilize before you can read it.Small GPS unit that covers all 3 functions is more inline with 2035.
