So I recently bought ARMA 3 Alpha for my friend on Steam so that we could play together. We tried looking for the same servers but we couldn't get the same ones in our lists (We even filtered for the same host.) So I tried to invite him to my game through Steam, he got the invite but when he tried to join it said "Game status is unavailable." I tried joining him through an invite and it displays "Join" for a split second then the join option disappears. It would be nice if this feature worked so that my friend and I could enjoy ARMA 3 together.

Open Steam
Start ARMA 3 Beta
Join a multiplayer server
Shift + Tab to open Steam overlay
Invite friend from friends list
Accepting an invite
Have a friend follow the steps above, but invite you to a multiplayer server.
Joining a friends game
Have a friend join a multiplayer server
Shift + Tab to open Steam overlay
Right click friend playing ARMA 3 Beta
Select Join Game

It would be very nice indeed, i'm not sure if it requires a lot of work from valve or BIS, but it's one of these little things i like with some steam games.
