direction of smoke deployment (e.g. Strider)
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

In the current version launching smoke grenades from a vehicle creates a big cloud of smoke around your vehicle.

Instead of putting the Strider (or any other vehicle able to use smoke) into such a cloud, smoke should build a broad screen in front of the vehicle, allowing it to relocate or withdraw unseen.

That would also mean that vehicles that have the launchers placed on a rotating turret could create a smoke screen at any side of the vehicle.

Edit: Screenshots from ArmA 2 (thats how it should be) & ArmA 3 beta added. {F20343} {F20344}

Do you mean counter measures or that you put smoke gernade or round into the vehicle and it fires them?

I mean the smoke that you can use in ground vehicles by pressing the counter measures button. (just like flares in an air vehicle), not smoke as special kind of ammo.

In ARMA 2 the smoke was deployed in the direction the turret was facing.

I was not sure about ArmA 2, but I guess that's what it should be like in ArmA 3 as well.
