AH-99 and Mi-48 are too voulneravle to 6,5 and 7,62 weapons such as MX SW, Zafir 7,62, 6,5 Gatling. 5 MX SW magazines (500 rounds) to the AH-99's hull is enough to damage it to the red status. 1200 6,5 rounds destroy AH-99 completely. Mi-48 is significantly more armored, but a regular infantry squad still able to shot it down. I suppose it's a bug, armored assault helicopters should not be vulnerable to small arms.

Event Timeline
Voted down. Helicopters are not some god like machine that rains death from the air. Even small arms fire is a serious risk to helicopters today. Also think about the logic you're using if you're saying it's 1200 rounds to completely destroy a chopper.
1200 rounds. That is a lot of bullets.
Not a bug, even the most heavily armored helicopter is still vulnerable to firearms, a well placed infantry ambush can be enough to wreck any pilots day.
They may be rated to take heavy caliber but that doesn't mean the WHOLE of the aircraft can take that, just key parts such as armor to the fuel cells, rotory and maybe cockpit area.
If you want to see how small arms can disrupt helicopters then look up the Battle of Najaf.
The thing is, I wouldn't object to the aircraft having more armor IF it functioned on a deeper systemic failure tree, weapons, optics and things of that nature.
I do not claim that a helicopter is a god - like machine. Armored helicopters like AH-64 or Mi-24 could be seriously damaged with 12,7 and 14,5 HMGs (armored sectors of these helis, such as engine complex and cockpit, are hard to penetrate with 12,7 though). But due to armor and specific positioning of the critical systems, not even single armored attack helicopter in the history was been shot down by small arms such as MGs or assault rifles. In Afganistan, Chechnya, Iraq, Iran all these helicopters were disabled by HMGs or more powerful weapon.
@NodUnit during the Battle of Najaf Apaches were damaged by HMGs, RPGs and manpads, not by small arms fire.
@Imperator: shot 5000 7,62 rounds to the frontal armour of M2 in reality, and not a single round will penetrate it. In A3 Marid can be destroyed with 3500 6,5 bullets, Marshall - with 4500. I suppose there is an old "good" problem with hitpoint system.
