Red dot scope crosshair motion blur
Reviewed, WishlistPublic

Description

There was always something odd about red dot scopes in ArmA series, and now i finally detected what it is. The scope crosshairs are motion blurred. It makes absolutely no sense as the eye position remains same in relation to the scope crosshair, yet when you start to look around, the crosshair is motion-blurred by the same amount of blur as the far terrain you are looking at.

Not only it looks weird and sends signal to your brain something uncanny is going on, but it also makes red dot scopes feel somewhat hazy, laggy and unnatural when in motion.

So that is why ironsights feel a lot more steady and agile. It is because they do not suffer from non-realistic motion blurring.

Additional Information

Coincidentally, I own an airsoft rifle with a red dot sight, and i did a practical experience of aiming down my red dot sight and focusing my eye focal depth on the crosshair while swaying my rifle around like crazy. But (logically) as the eye remains in exactly the same position in relation to the red dot sight, there is no motion blurring going on on the crosshair itself, only on the distant background behind it.

So to conclude, anything attached on the weapon including the red dot scope crosshair should not be motion blurred as long as you aim down the sight ;)

Confirmed, this also affects hud elements when in helicopters.

May i ask why this still isn't fixed? Even after current HUGE update addressing hundreds of graphical glitches?

Now it's update 1.4 and this serious bug still in there. Really unbelievable...
Please, just disable this annoying rotational blur on the optics and the HUD!

The rotational blur is very useful feature on computers with slower framerate, as the experience is much better with it than without, so it would be nice to be able to use it as intended, without affecting the optics and HUDs.

More than 3 months and several small / big updates later this annoying bug is still there.

Is it REALLY so complicated to exclude the collimated optics from the PP rotational blur effect?
As is is now it really ruins the experience. I'm getting motion sickness in five minutes when rotational blur is turned on.
But without rotational blur the low fps (around 30) hurts me more because of the stuttering.

PLEASE fix this issue if possible!
