Ability to create or edit maps
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

It would be great if we were given the tools to actually create our own custom maps to play with our scenarios, instead of playing one of the few maps already included, going online to try and find one that comes close to what we would like, or learning to work with 3D editing programs.

It would be okay if an arma map editing program was released as a separate program or even somehow implemented into the editor that is already there.

Do you mean something simple like for example the terrain editor from the Sims series? Or do you want something more advanced than Visitor?

I think something like forge in Halo would be excellent. It would be a nice feature to be able to adjust the height of terrain kind of like in the Sims series editors, but I think it would be great if we could just have the tools to create our own custom towns and bases.

.........are you kidding, right? please tell me you are kidding, there are several houndreds of maps for arma 2 made, you just have to search for the right tool to make maps in arma

There are plenty of map making tools out there that can lay down the terrain for Arma.

And if you want to make buildings for free then get Blender and start making 3D buildings. It really isn't that hard to do.

Also you can make your own bases using the assets already in the game in the editor, if you explore the editor you'll find a lot of things.

There are already tools for creating terrains, and using them is not exactly rocket science.
