I have played the arma 3 alpha for a while now and have a few suggestions to make regarding a few mechanics
and also graphics options. If these are already being implemented then by all means correct me.
1.Throwing grenades at a lower angle or throwing them underhand to roll them. This could be really useful in urban areas in
situations like breaching a building/room. The current grenade throw isn't really optimal for those situations.
- Is it possible to add a way to slide down steeper mounds and small hills instead of running, since this is a valid military
tactic to get to cover faster. Also sprinting down a steep hill in full combat gear that weighs alot is not really safe nor
realistic which brings us to the next thing...
- Sprinting up and down stairs. The speed at which the character does this should be reduced or using sprint while doing this
could be taken out entirely.
- At the very least there should be some sort of a falling mechanic which adds a chance to fall while performing actions like
in suggestions 2-3.
Now comes the nitpicking since these things are hard to implement to the game:
- When moving at fast speeds the character should not stop immediately when the movement key is released. There should be some
sense of weight behind the characters actions.
- More dustclouds... i realise this is hard performance wise but there could be an option to disable it so it wouldn't be
a problem for people with lower system specs. Small dustclouds forming when moving on gravel roads and also bigger dustclouds
from explosions (there is some but it disappears almost instantly). This could add a way of creating cover by using
artillery/mortar fire... similar to smoke grenades.
These are some of the things that came to mind.
