Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

VIDEO http://youtu.be/sITcPP9UiGY

What I am doing:

Holding Joystick to one side and pushing a button on keyboard. You can see the major difference between joystick and keyboard input. Basically controlling with a keyboard is much more responsive.

Anyone know if this can be somehow resolved? ARMA 2 doesn't seems to have this problem.

Could this be related to the Saitek profiler software? Can you try without the software once?

I can confirm that it happens with an xbox 360 controller. I am not using any extra software.

Using Logitech Extreme 3d, similar situation. Indeed there is a difference in the position of the stick in the plane. When I press the key on the keyboard it moves further than with the joystick. Easiest to check: move joystick to the side to the max, look at the helicopter in-game stick, now press the key to roll to the corresponding side, you will see that the in-game helicopter cyclic stick moves even further than with a joystick. It works ok with "W" and "S", but not with "A" and "D".

Fireball, I am not sure how I would try it without the profiler. I am only running the drivers and dont have the profiler on.

I can confim this issue on Win 7 with xbox controller and generic gampads alike.

I can confirm this same issue is visible with CH Products Flightstick Pro + Win 7. This issue is only visible for me in X-movement axis (cyclic left/right in game) but not in Y-axis (cyclic forward/backward in game). At least the visual movement of the helicopter controller in cockpit looks to be the same for cyclic forward and -backward when using joystick or when using keyboard.

This issue is not related to actual joystick but is dependant on the game, since even if I bind my Joystick Y-axis into cyclic left/right, it still only has the movement range of around 50% compared to keyboard. This issue was not visible in Arma2. Please handle this with priority as it currently impairs all flying in Arma 3 with gamepads and joysticks.

Please put this as high priority!

Thank you very very much.

I am amazed at how much the devs are involved with the community and how much they listen to us!

Best company in my books

I agree but this issue hasn't even been touched yet as far as I know ?

You can't know and therfore you can't judge ;) it says "assigned" so possible a fix within month.

I am sure the fix is coming. It's can't be ignored after so many tickets and topics talked about it.

Any new info on this? Could we get an update pleeeasee?

It would be nice to get some sort of official acknowledgement please ?

<official acknowledgement - successfully reproduced, assigned, fingers crossed ;)>

It truly is a bugging bugger, we are sorry about it taking so long :/

Oukej many thanks for the reply, Iets hope this bug is about to get squashed :-)

I also made a video presenting a problem. Heli physics needs much improvement.

@oukej: Thank you very much for the update.

Isn't this the same problem that we had with collective raise being halved. I know that Analog was working fine, but collective was halved.

Is it possible that this is the same problem, considering collective was going through a motion and analog was either on or off?

I am not a tech so I have no idea what I am talking about, just speculating.

Thanks.

I have a horrible feeling this won't get fixed in beta :(

It should get fixed, it's assigned.

Assign does not always mean fix ;), but in this case - be not afraid - Dr. Hladik's remedy is already on its way to Steam and you should hopefully see it there tomorrow.

Music to my ears :)

Its fixed whooooooooooooooooooopeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Best present ever ! Thanks so much for this let the flying begin :)

Thanks once again, Hladas :D

YYYEEEESSSSS!!!!! This is amazing. I am doing things I thought were impossible. Will post a video later.

Thanks devs. This is AMAZING!

Thanks for the feedback, closing down.
