multiplayer game server list loading is very choppy
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When a player opens the game server list window the actual list of servers starts loading in a very choppy manner. First you get like 33% of the servers showing up and then nothing happens for like 10-20 seconds. Then again another 33% of the servers shows up and then another 10-20 seconds delay and then this repeats again until finally you get the entire server list. If you press the "refresh" button this entire process repeats again. So it appears that the buffering or something is a little too slow in how this list of servers is generated.

I think it would be better to just put a percentage bar GUI element here which shows how many servers were found so far and once this percentage bar reaches 100% then display the actual server list for the player to pick and join. This issue is not critical but problematic in the sense that when you sort the server list and start picking your desired server the server list gets populated with more servers to pick from and everything gets shifted around on the screen and you need to re-sort again. Also for some reason usually the best servers with largest player populations show up with the longest delay in this list. Usually the worst low-populated servers show up first after you click "refresh" or enter the multiplayer window for the very first time. So in other words in my opinion it would be ideal to see the entire multiplayer game server list all in one shot right away.
