attachTo House looses geometry and roadway lods
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

Part of ArmA2-ArmA3 project building ships for use in ArmA3

Method in ArmA2 was to have a bigship vessel, with the the visual hull parts including roadways and geometry attached under 'attachTo'

This allowed the restrictions of 50m lengths to be overcome in total although each section was within the 50m limits.

InArmA2 the roadway and geometry worked.

However in ArmA3 these do not work under attachTo when dealing with other vehicles, but do work when not attached. (as in trying to drive on them or collision detection_

I have tried many different parts, they all have the same affect

Steps To Reproduce

This should be replicable using O2 to build a block with roadway and geometry then attachTo a vehicle.

I'm unable to verify this by creating new objects, so I tried it out with two bunkers in the editor.

The results were that the roadway lod seems to be gone and the entire geometry, while present, seems to be really...soft.

Can you please try this again and let us know of your results? I have a suspicion that different types of simulation and simulation inheriting seems to be the root cause of this.
