Generic USB joystick / Gamepad no longer working
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

PS3 style gamepad made by Hama. It was working in previous versions of non-dev alpha. I was using default generic Windows drivers for the device.

The Gamepad is listed under options/Controls/Controller/Customizable controlers: Generic USB joystick. The device is highlighted white in the list but the Enable/Disable button doesnt change state when clicked on.

Arma doesnt react to any input from the gamepad yet the device is working outside Arma without problems.

I was using the gamepad as a part of control scheme Im quite fond of: Freetrack + Mouse/Keyboard + gamepad under my palm for analog controlled leaning. {F18720}

We could not reproduce this bug.

Please let us know if you are still able to reproduce this issue in latest Development build.

If so, try this:

Go to Options -> Controls -> Controller - here you must Enable your gamepad in Customizable controllers
Then go back to Controls and manually assign your gamepad to specific controls.

Thank you

The problem still persists. Uploaded screenshot. As described above. The button to enable/disable the device doesnt work. The inactive button shows the state of previously higlighted device. I now use PPJoy Virtual Joystick and map the gamepad to Arma through it. Disconnecting every other device doesnt help.

Gamepad is now listed under its correct name instead of "Generic USB Joystick" and is working again. Fixed

Mass closing ancient tickets with no activity for > 12 months; assume fixed or too trivial.

If this issue is still relevant in current dev build, please re-post.
