Please try use -nobenchmark command line option.
Right click on Arma III in your Steam Library>Properties>Set launch options

for some reason i can't see my appdata folder . . . give up. i'll just wait until someone has the same issue

It can be hidden folder. Try set show hidden folders in total commander. Configuration>Display>Show hidden/system files (for experts only)

hello, sorry for the late reply. Been very busy with life. However, i downloaded the program and everything and i think i see the start to my issues. I have no folder for arma 3 in my appdata/local.

I only have one for arma 2 and arma OA

Can you try kill all unnecessary applications before start Arma III?
If you use Zone Alarm antivirus, so try uninstall it. Some antivirus software can block start game.

Mass closing ancient tickets with no activity this year; assume fixed or too trivial etc.

If this issue is still relevant in current dev build, please create a new ticket referencing this one and request for it to be re-opened.
