Multiplayer VON, radio, voice communication
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I would love to see the VON radio communications changed so that we have full control with regard to muting select channels (especially Global and Side). Server admins should also have the options to disable global VON for all non-admins.

Make it a part of the default options for multiplayer so that we do not have to set it for each server. The problem is not with the configuration, it comes from either ignorance or blatant annoyance; and it's both time consuming and futile to mute each and every offender of global VON spam.

Stumbled upon this but you do make some sense here.

When I'm out sniping by myself, I do not want to hear chatter on the channels except within my vicinity, as a normal radio would perform.

From my experience with radios, if you switched to "direct channel" or the "local channel" (ie. avoid transmitting and receiving from the repeater), then you would hear nothing but your local area.

If somebody does go into your vicinity and wants to know if anybody is there, than you should be able to hear them when the unit only transmits on the "direct channel".

+1, as it's extremely irritating listening to girly chat!

Thanks for the feedback rogerx. The biggest annoyance for me is that people either don't understand proper radio etiquette/function or they purposely annoy others. I really hope BI considers changing our scope of control over the radio chat. I understand we can mute all radio chatter all together, but that doesn't help when you are actually trying to pass legitimate communication with your team and/or squad.
