Mouse right key (secondary mouse button) apparently bound to something to do with optics by default. When changed it to be used for forward movement in infantry mode, and made sure to delete any conflicting bindings (i.e. no longer showing red), it appears to accept and save the binding... but does nothing during game play (whereas a keyboard key bound for forward movement works).
Have seen other reports of issues related to binding this button to nondefault function having problems and possibly being an outstanding issue as far back as Arma II.
This is a show stopper for me, as I customize all my games for left mouse button = fire and right mouse button = forward and I'm not going to rewire my nervous system to suit a single game, no matter how good the game is.
Thanks.

RESOLVED - Thanks Orlok, for helpful comment "Oh, make sure you assign "hold secondary mouse" not just mouse 2nd as that wont work for movement." That did the trick (in Beta). Essentially, where in other games would typically just have to add "secondary mouse button" for forward movement, in Arma III, also have to add "hold secondary mouse button", as Arma III differentiates between the two. And, of course, make sure neither is assigned to anything else.

I got the same Problem with moving backwards. I hope this bug will be fixed because i miss it since ofp. :(
Hello there
I too am having issues with my mouse buttons being assigned to movement. From input no being recognised to "autorunning". The bindings used seemed to work perfectly in all other RV based games and in A3 up 'till now.
Oh, make sure you assign "hold secondary mouse" not just mouse 2nd as that wont work for movement.

Hello there,
No problem. Glad to help, that foxed me and a few others when having to rebind.
I also have not experienced any issues recently although thats only in SP. Ive not had the chance to go MP today, but so far no issues.

Thanks for the hint.
I would have never tried this because for the third mouse button there is no "hold" function and it works as expected for moving forward/reverse. Now it also works with the second button as expected.
I would also say that this bug should be closed because it is not a bug, it is a feature. ;)
