when you look at your character in 3rd person, you will see his holster for a sidearm on his right hip but its always empty, even though there is a pistol in his inventory. at first i thought maybe they had it somewhere else (like a chest holster) but when you equip your pistol, then go back to your main weapon, you will see an animation of the character putting the pistol back into the holster, but there's nothing there.
