Various modules under object modifiers and perhaps others, such as "Object Modifiers\Damage Character Object" can be set so that they can effect people that are directly synced to them, or... "Objects in synchronized triggers". Well when you attempt to make a player inside the trigger zone take damage by changing the damage object to "Objects in synchronized triggers" it does nothing. It should make the person(s) inside the trigger area take damage but it does nothing.

Steps To Reproduce
Create a player, create an "Object Modifiers\Damage Character Object" module and set its "Apply to" setting to "Objects in synchronized triggers". Set it's "Damage" level to 1 (which means fully killed). Create a trigger and set its "Activation" to Anybody. Sync the trigger to the damage module and run the mission. Step into the trigger area and it does nothing.
