When you crash a helicopter, often the helicopter wont blow up but it will just be a wreck, and the people inside the helicopter will survive. When this happens there is a graphical glitch where you can't see any people inside the helicopter when you're outside of the helicopter or looking at the helicopter in 3rd person while inside, however in 1st person you and your co-pilot are still inside and the helicopter look as good as new.
