You should be able to loot weapon attachments from weapons on ground without picking them up first. Now you first have to drop your weapon and pick the weapon up to be able to take the weapon attachments and then drop it and pick your weapon back. And your clips will drop too with your weapon so you'll have to pick them up after taking your weapon back. This takes way too much time just to pick up one sight or other attachments.
