Optimizing Budge Gaming PC
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

I've been trying to get a good balance on the video options along with display driver options given to me through ATI CCC to get the game running in a stable 15+ FPS. I'm not afraid of running below 20FPS at all times, hell I did it with Arma 2.

The most recent Dev Build has caused one of the people I play A3 with on a normal basis to literally have a 20-40FPS increase on a system that's extremely close to mine.

Friend is running:

i5-2500
8GB DDR3 RAM
ATI HD6770 Video Card

I am running:

i5-650m
8GB DDR3 RAM
ATI HD 5570 Video Card

The recent Dev build gave the friend's client a 20-40FPS boost while he was running on with Ultra Preset: PostPro-Off, AA8x, Shadows Low, Clouds Off, Particle Standard. Roughly getting 48-56FPS.

When I ran Arma 3 before the dev build I ran on Low preset with most of the extra stuff off and got roughly 15-20 FPS. With the Dev Build I run Low Preset and get roughly 9-15FPS now and 14-18 FPS with the High Preset with adaptive settings from his options, Postpro off AA8x Shadows of Clouds off Particle Standard.

I'm trying to figure out if the optimization that's being done ( if any at all ) is being done for older generation processors too.

Note: With and Without the Dev build I run at 80% GPU, 47% RAM, and 46-60% CPU Usage... my computer should be able to handle more but it seems the client isn't taking advantage of the system's hardware.
