At the moment any weapon fired automatically sounds very jittery and uneven in its report, which is further severely compounded when playing on servers with poor network performance. ARMA3 is using the old-school solution of simply playing the same singleshot soundfile for every round fired, even when firing fully automatic.
There are several games that have a much better solution, chiefly Raven Shield among them. This consists of having a looped soundfile of automatic fire that is played for the duration of the burst, ending with a special "ending" soundfile, that includes the reverb and "echo" for the burst in question. It works MUCH better than the current solution and provides much better immersion to the experience.
