if you're weapon is lowered and you are moving and hit the button to look down the sights, your character starts auto running. To stop running you have to vault (at least thats the way we stopped it). I'm not sure if you have to be moving before you look down the sights, but I did it several times to confirm that moving with weapon lowered and look down sights causes the auto run
