FPS drops from 60 to <14 when looking at dry gras through weapon scope, tried at firing range

Steps To Reproduce

start a FPS monitoring SW

goto firing range

look in normal view at dry grass in 10-30m distance - > check FPS
repeat in scope view at dry grass in 10-30m distance - > check FPS

Additional Information

I lowered all vido settings to minimum - no change
