Compass animation not realistic
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

If you are pointing any direction lets say 'East' to start with. If you open the compass, the dial swings East. However if you put the compass away, then turn to the west then open the compass again, the dial swings all the way from east to west.

Realistically the compass needle should always be pointing in the correct position, regardless of whether the compass is being used at that particular time or not.

I haven't noticed this, but I agree.

The lensatic compass locks the compass wheel when it's closed, so it's actually counterintuitively correct.

Not to mention, it'll most likely be stored vertically which would unalign it even if the compass didn't lock it.
