I strongly agree with this, it is something I find to be necessary for any sort of missions involving arrival or departure in a raft. You're just kind of stuck laying there and you can't defend or anything. A very nice mod for Arma 2 made it so you could aim while sitting on the side of a little bird, pretty simple but very effective.
