Game Version number: 1.5.0.14(Steam)
Modded?: No
Issue Description:
RPG-7 grenades do not fly along the sight grid.
As an example, a shot at a target at a distance of ~336 meters, I do not use mods to measure the range, so I used the standard distance measuring tools that are built into the sight.
The height of the firing position and the height of the target were the same, wind 0 m/s
The height of the LAV-25 target is 2692 mm, rounded to 2.7 meters, the measuring scale is designed for 2.4 meters.
Therefore, we will need to make a calculation to correctly calculate the distance to the target: The height of the target minus the height of the measuring scale, multiplied by 10. Then we multiply the resulting number by a constant number (4), multiplied by the distance divided by 100 (if the distance is 280 meters, then we get 2.8 in the formula) plus the measured distance in meters.
2.7 - 2.4 = 0.3
0.3 * 10 = 3
(3 * 4) * 2.8 = 33.6m + 280m = 313.6 meters
I checked my location and the target's location on the map using a ruler, the calculated distance is approximately the same as the distance on the map ruler with an mistake of ±10 meters.
Below I will attach screenshots of how I shot and how the shells flew.
Using the PG-7VL shot, we need to aim approximately at the center of the hull at the mark indicated [1] on the aiming grid, this will correspond to a shot at a distance of ~310 meters, taking into account the constantly losing speed of the rocket, however, if you aim like this, the shells significantly fly over the target.
Then I decided to aim at the mark [2] and aim the sight slightly below the center of the wheels, seriously compensating for the possible mistake in calculating the distance, and the PG-7VL grenade still flew over the target, a screenshot of which I am attaching.
The RPG rocket on screenshot noticeably flies higher than the target, even taking into account the possible mistake in calculations.
As a result, I had to adjust the shooting on the aiming grid at the appropriate ~215 meters, then the shells hit the target reliably.
I also want to note the inconsistency of this problem, during testing 1/5 shots hit the turret (provided that I was aiming at the wheels).
A similar problem is partially observed with the PG-7VM grenade, but due to the fact that it has a flatter flight trajectory, this is not so noticeable when shooting up to 300 meters, but if you lay further than this distance, the problem becomes more noticeable.
I would venture to suggest that the accuracy is affected by a VERY strong unpredictable spread, since sometimes the shells go VERY far to the left or right relative to the vertical of the shot, as well as small inaccuracies in the adjustment of the aiming grid and the ballistics of the shell, which together affects the aimed shooting.
I do not claim to have the absolute truth in this problem, since my calculations and measurements were made by the imperial method inside the game, and I did not resort to data mining, I only ask you to pay attention to this possible problem, and make the calculated aimed shot from the RPG-7 using the PGO-7V3 sight more predictable.
