[Confict] Placing AI units with laggy internet uses up unit limit but doesn't spawn anything

Issue Description:

I was playing with laggy internet recently and went to place AI units in Confict to protect the base. Out of 10 units only 4 spawned but the limit was used up completely like I had all units placed. I know that lack of proper repro is a long shot but I believe that this is pretty serious issue, as AI units are basic form of defense in Confict. Playing later on the same match I checked the base again and the limit didn't go down rendering the base never able to spawn 6 more units.

Steps To Reproduce

Sadly this bug relies on lag and I'm not sure how to reproduce it exactly. Rough repro would be:

  1. Play Confict
  2. Try placing AI groups during lag
  3. Observe usage limit increasing with no units spawned

I tried to repro it myself by forcing packet loss but couldn't. Just had this happen again but I had very stable connection, group placed, no soldiers appeared, limit used up. No idea how, but the bug is indeed there.

I want to add to this… mainly because I can’t create a new inquiry. I saw this and thought it was related to server performance. I saw some ramblings that Arma was running on Nitrado, and finally did an IP lookup and confirmed that indeed official servers are running on Nitrado. (at least some of them).

BI… not sure what kind of contract you have with them, but I have rented their servers once for a few games I played with my wives and it was garbage. 24 hr resets necessary because memory leak, lost save data because of that, lag on a fiber connection, slow fps…

I can see how Arma Reforger has very poor server performance. I had three players on their server infrastructure… you are trying to run 48 players 🪦💀

Why not contract with a real datacenter provider that is connected directly to the internet backbone? Even my small IT shop is able to lease a significant amount of datacenter hardware for external services. It runs better than any public cloud, where they oversubscribe/underprovision hardware.

Nitrado doesn’t know what they are doing.

Had this happen again yesterday. New round of Confict, literally 2nd base captured, placed 5 machinegunner groups, 0 soldiers appeared, 100% of limit used up! Wish I recorded that.
