Dayz - Frequent crash after 45 minutes – STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xC0000005)
Acknowledged, NormalPublic

Description

Hello,

I’m experiencing regular in Dayz crashes after 30–50 minutes of gameplay.

The crash always ends with:

Exit code: 0xC0000005 - STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION

This issue occurs on the stable branch of the game.
Current game version : 1.28.160049

This occurs both on vanilla and modded servers. I’ve already tried the following actions:

  • Verified game files via Steam
  • Removed all mods
  • Updated all drivers
  • Uninstalled the new NVIDIA App and switched back to GeForce Experience
  • Updated my GPU drivers to the latest stable version available
  • RAM tested with no errors

Unfortunately, the issue still persists. I’ve attached the .mdmp, .rpt, and dxdiag.xml files for analysis.

Thank you for your help!

Hi Geez,

Thanks for your quick reply.

Just to clarify:
Is this issue caused by something on my side (e.g. drivers, system settings, mods), or is it fully related to the game itself?

I’d like to know if there’s anything I can do in the meantime to avoid the crash.
Thanks again,

Hello,

Thank you for your reply.
I’ll be waiting for a fix on your end. Feel free to let me know if you need any additional files or information from me.

Best regards.

Sometimes, instead of the usual 0xC0000005 (Access Violation) crash, I also get the following crash code:
Crash code: 0x00000001 - UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXG

This seems to indicate an issue with initializing the DirectX graphics interface (DXGI).

I’ve attached the corresponding .rpt and .mdmp files for this crash.
