Freelook lock seems broken on PC
We can not lock Freelook on PC if you are a helicopter pilot that flies with mouse you would not able to fly anymore until hotfix.
Where you also see this issue is by climbing wall / climbing on ladders you can not turn your head.
Try to fly with mouse / climbing walls / ladders your head will be weirdly locked and stutter back to center.
If you press alt it will still recenter but wont lock at all. Hopefully we find a workaround for now or quick hotfix.
Also the head is locked while digging / dying (Uncon) / animation it was normally in freelook but by tapping alt it will go back to freelook again. Something seems reversed since the update.

Mainly helicopter pilots who fly with mouse and use the Freelook Lock feel the impact of this issue.
But also other animations where your normally would be free looking are now locked. Like climbing / mantling / using ladder / F1 animations / unconscious.
Hope this is enough info now to find the problem / bug.

Do you have Mouse Aircraft Control enabled on the Gameplay tab? I have seen other say Alt in heli is broken and apparently, at some point, you held ALT to center / lock view and control heli and then release ALT to look around. It has never worked that way for me and seems quite backwards. I have always held ALT to look around and release to center view and fly. Not sure why anyone would want to hold ALT in addition to needing to access keys for tail rotor and pitch controls. The way it is working for me, and the way it has always worked for me makes much more sense. You hold alt to look around if needed, release and snap back to forward view and heli control.

i play this great game on PC.
I confirm this bug about toggle freelook/controls commands (since 1.4 release i suppose), no way to fly with mouse :(
Before, inside vehicle : 2xLALT to control vehicle (heli) with mouse, and 1xLALT to toggle in freelook.
And i confirm too that before some animations were with freelook (building, third person view, ...) but from this release we have to press LALT to toggle in freelook.
Hope BIS dev team (thanks to this great team) find quickly a workaround/fix for this "bug" because fly with only keyboard is the worst danger situation compared to enemies presence ;-)

Freelook being blocked is known and will be fixed at a later patch (but not the next one)

This is somewhat intended, the ability to disable freelook and dynamically enable fly by mouse in helicopters by holding L-alt was removed as it conflicted with displaying useractions inside of the helicopter.
You can however find in Gameplay>Controls settings "Mouse aircraft control" which will make fly by mouse the default (and have freelook disabled by default in helicopters). You can still use and toggle freelook by holding or double tapping alt when this is enabled
