Arma Reforger: Desync related to destruction.
Awaiting internal Testing, NormalPublic

Description

I’ve encountered a really interesting bug — a desync related to destruction.

Yesterday, I was playing with a group of friends on the Rostov map (W.C.S. Realism server). We were in a dense, bushy forest, where visibility was really poor. Out of nowhere, we all got wiped by a single player. We're all experienced, with over 4,000 hours in the Arma series, and those shots felt unreal. At first, we thought someone was using wallhacks or some kind of NVIDIA Inspector tweak.

But then I remembered something strange from a few matches earlier. I was on Chernarus, at the airfield, behind a half-broken concrete wall and saw an enemy in front of me (distance to this enemy was ~50m), I emptied a whole mag into them — they didn’t die or even react or run - just walk around like normal. Then I got shot by a helicopter and went unconscious. While I was down, I noticed the concrete wall was fully intact on my screen — not half-destroyed like I had seen earlier.

That’s when it clicked: on the server side, the wall was never broken, so my bullets never went through. They hit solid concrete.

And I think that explains what happened in Rostov too. The guy who killed us probably didn’t have the bushes and trees rendered on his side so he had a clear shot, while we were completely blind.

I’m not exactly sure how to reproduce it — it just seems to happen randomly from time to time.

Additional Information

It could be an issue on the mod's side, or possibly a problem with the engine's new destruction synchronization system.
