Description

feedback for how multivitamins, chlorine tablets, chelating tablets, tetracycline, charcoal tablets, and codeine pills work:

one thing i find a bit unbalanced in DayZ is the rate at which you find these health-related items. it's very easy to find just a couple spawned 'stacks' of these items and have enough to last a very long time. for example, you might rapidly find 20+ multivitamins in an hour, which is more than you would ever need - and if you die to a player and they loot it, it's more than *they* will ever need. with chlorine tablets and chelating tablets on Sakhal especially, it's suddenly "easy mode" for water gathering since you will easily have all the water you will ever need from streams, ponds or snow (assuming you have a container.)

what i suggest is making all these items into 4x use items similar to how sewing kits or weapon cleaning kits work. that way when you find one, it's definitely enough to e.g. cure illness or give you plenty of drinkable water, but if you want more than that, you need to sacrifice another two slots of inventory space - this way you can still build a decent supply on your character's inventory, but not so much that you never need to search for health or water purification items ever again. it would also make finding them a bit more exciting and meaningul.

of course it would be very important to tune the loot economy so that they spawn in the right amounts to not be incredibly rare or too plentiful - but at least in the case of being slightly too plentiful, by having them be 4x use items, most people would not have (or want to sacrifice) the precious inventory space for e.g. 6 slots for 12 multivitamin uses.

just a thought :)
