VRAM issue
Awaiting internal Testing, NormalPublic

Description

Game Version number: 1.3.0.102
Not Modded.

Issue Description:
After about an hour or half of playing the VRAM slowly fills up, and performance drops drastically. Changing Texture detail resets this and gives another hour or half before it happenes again. Also on that note, I played a few hours on build 1.2.1.202, and this issue is not present there (yet).

Steps To Reproduce

Play Conflict mode, I did it in singleplayer with the following settings:

General

  • Window mode: Borderless full screen
  • Render scale (1680x945): 70%
  • FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0: Yes
  • V-Sync: No
  • FPS limit: 60
  • Draw distance: 1450m
  • Nearby depth of field: No
  • Use 2D scopes: No
  • Use software cursor: No

Post-processing

  • Post-processing anti-aliasing: None
  • Depth of field quality: None
  • Ambient occlusion (HBAO): Medium
  • Screen space reflections: Low
  • Contact shadows: Yes

Quality

  • Hardware anti-alising: 2x
  • Foliage smoothing: Grass+trees
  • Model geometric detail: Low
  • Object draw distance: Medium
  • Terrain surface detail: Parallax
  • Texture detail: Medium-High (As I said, I'm constantly changing it when the VRAM gets full to reset it)
  • Texture filtering: High
  • Grass quality: Low
  • Grass draw distance: 60m
  • Shadow quality: Low
  • Distant shadows: None
  • Render target format: Standard
  • Enviroment quality: Low
Additional Information

System information:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3750H with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.30 GHz
RAM: 16GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 with 4 GB of VRAM
Game is on an SSD

With this system and settings I can run the game on 50-70 fps depending on my situation, but upon the VRAM getting full, it drops to about 10-20 fps.

Some additional information:

  • It has unfortunatly persisted into the stable release of 1.3
  • Playing on higher Texture detail setting accelerates this and the issue comes up sooner.
  • It seems to have some connection, or it just accelerates it (might as well be a mere coincidence) but opening the map seems to have a negative impact on this.

Yes, this has happened to me and the fix is to change texture detail aswell. This mostly happens in modded servers for me.

My specs are :
I5 12400
RTX 3070 8GB
32GB RAM
1440p monitor

Almost everything at max settings, including textures on Ultra. 85% render scale
