accept new lines from BI to the file, but what do they do?

I feel it's important that community server owners understand the effect of these settings so they can make informed decisions.
for instance: we have a Gatekit, which makes only gates (based on fence) - do we need to add a line for that here?
Many servers run EvenMoreDoors which allows players to build single and double doors (also based on fence class) - what is the effect here?
